JOHN PROULX CHINA TOUR!

I'm recently back from a great tour to Changsha, China for the Orange Island International Jazz Festival. Drummer, Matt Gordy put together two outstanding quartets, including Bill Cunliffe, Chuck Berghofer, Chris Colangelo, Kendall Kay, Bob Sheppard, and Chuck Manning.  We had a great time, and felt like "rock stars" playing to a crowd of 16,000 screaming fans! CLICK HERE to see some pics from our overseas adventure!


JOHN PROULX'S THIRD CD ON MAXJAZZ DUE WAS JUST RELEASED ON OCTOBER 22nd, 2012!   "The Best Thing For You" is co-produced with pianist, Bill Cunliffe and features a vocal duet with MICHAEL FEINSTEIN! (CLICK HERE to see some pics of the session taken by photographer, Dailey Pike) Other featured musicians on the new record include: Bob Sheppard, Larry Koonse, Ron Stout, Jeremy Boersma, and vocalist Sara Gazarek


"Jogger Chronicles" (artist number 53364) , a song John co-wrote with lyricist K. Lawrence Dunham is entered in ART PRIZE, 2012 (Grand Rapids, Mi).  The song, featuring Bob Sheppard on sax, is also featured on John's soon to be released CD,

JOHN'S NEW CD UPDATE!

I'm very pleased to announce the release of my second CD on MAXJAZZ, "Baker's Dozen-Remembering Chet Baker", released on August 29th, 2009. Joining me in the rhythm section once again are Chuck Berghofer on bass, and Joe LaBarbera on drums. The featured soloist is a young trumpet player from NY named Dominick Farinacci.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY HOTEL, NY

From September, 2009-January, 2010, John Proulx appeared at Feinstein's first ever piano bar in the Loews Regency Hotel (61st and Park Ave, Manhattan, NY).  Guests at the show included: Michael Feinstein, Jack Jones, the Bergman's, Peter Cincotti, Tony DeSare, Hilary Kole, and Peter Eldridge of the NY Voices. What an experience! NANCY WILSON WINS GRAMMY!

Nancy Wilson's album, Turned to Blue, was the Grammy WINNER for "Best Jazz Vocal Album!" of 2007

I co-wrote a song on that album with lyricist, D. Channsin Berry, called, These Golden Years
